So, we showed this film in two festivals, Madison and New York. I was quite happy with turnout and the excitement of being accepted into both festivals. Not bad for the first time.
Putting your work out there is an intense thing to do. You set yourself up for success and failure. Its not always easy. You want to think that everyone is going to be as amazed as you are when they watch it, but you learn a lot from their responses, good or bad.
In the end, this whole experience has been about the amazing support and education that I have received in putting my work out there to the general public. I am so glad that I got to make a film twice (1986 and 2004) about the great Madison, Wisconsin band Honor Among Thieves (Andy Ewen, Doug DeRosa, Joey B. Banks, and Randal Harrison).
Also, I need to thank my collaborators on this project: Brendan Bathrick, Carl Fritscher, and Randy Thiel. Without them this film would not have been possible.
